A Brief Introduction
Sheraz Khan Niazi has produced and co-directed Call Me Ishmael (2000, 2001, 2005), The Blood Of The Lazar (2001) and A Seraph For The Sanitarium (2005) with the help of Real Entertainment Productions. The Blood of The Lazar was a collaborative effort by Real Entertainment Productions and Rattan Theatrics.
Sheraz completed his graduation via the University of London, United Kingdom, program in 2000 and completed a post-graduate degree from the University of Surrey, United Kingdom in 2002.
The 2001 production of Call Me Ishmael won awards for Best Play, Best Actor (Omair Rana), Best Original Script and was nominated for Best Actress (Saira Ansari) in the Xtravaganza 2001 regional theatrical festival held in Lahore, Pakistan hosted by Gulls and Moonstone Productions which featured sixteen plays over the course of fifteen days.
In addition to Call Me Ishmael, Sheraz has written its sequel A Seraph For The Sanitarium.
Furthermore Sheraz has written an historical fictional drama set in Spain 711 (C.E.) Where Ceutan Children Lie which was commended by BBC World Drama in August 2009.
Omid (Hope) was written in 2011. It is a 30 minute one-act play. It shows the deterioration of a man's relationship with his wife, which mirrors the division of their country into separate states.
Boudicca's Legacy was a maritime drama written in 2011. It is a one hour radio play. It is an historical fiction set in 1746 C.E.
Every Flicker was written in 2018. It is a radio drama set at the time of Princess Diana's death in 1997. Family tragedies and shameful secrets are explored through the eyes of a brother and sister living in Pakistan.
Sheraz continues to write more plays and is always interested in writing for different media.
